Ju Shin Jung Korean Charcoal BBQ Restaurant

Ju Shin Jung Korean Charcoal BBQ Restaurant

27 West Coast Highway #01-18/19 YESS Centre, Tel (65) 6464 0872

Why They Won: Korean BBQ is a specialty around the world, yet few who claim authenticity actually achieve it. Ju Shun Jung is famous for for it's beef, of which there are more or less two options for the beef: seasoned (bulgolgi) or plain. The set which we ordered consists of three different types of plain meat - rib, sirloin and brisket - and a few slices of ox tongue. The quality of the meat is fantastic! The sirloin is the best, extremely juicy when cooked to medium. Unlike lots of BBQs, Ju Shin Jung's BBQs have exhaust slits lining the side of the cooking pit. They suck out the fumes, providing for a less annoying BBQ due to the reduced smoke.

House Specialty: The egg-and-beef-rib soup is really, really tasty!

Bet You Didn't Know: Korean BBQ is far from traditional in Korea, up until 50 years ago, the average Korean Joe couldn't even afford any meat, so Korean beef recipes were rather few and undeveloped!
