In 1959, Ms. Ruth whats-her-name made the first Barbie doll, and thus were little girls forever indoctrinated into the concept of the perfect woman. But this isn't going to an angry feminist statement of some kind. In 1959, something more important than the Barbie doll was created. It was a statement, a style of being cool. It was hair gel.
A nd the people who made it popular are John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. I'm referring of course to the tradition of fast cars and big greased hair which puff up to make you look like a '50s stage singer, and excellent singing. Now, nearly 50 years on, 3,388 performances and eight Tony awards later, Grease is here to spruce you up for its revival! Written by Warren Casey and Jim Jacobs, Grease brings back the classic rock 'n' roll sounds of the fifties with songs like "We Go Together," "Summer Nights", "Beauty School Dropout" and "Born to Hand Jive." And for those of you who cannot get enough of Grease the movie, special arrangements have been made to include three hit songs from the movie: "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "You're The One That I Want" and Barry Gibb's "Grease"! Furthermore, as part of Singapore Indoor Stadium's new 'Red Carpet' initiative, ticket holders for Grease will be amongst the first to enjoy a very special package of exclusive VIP privileges. Each Premium category ticket holder will be entitled to free valet parking, an invitation to attend an exclusive pre-show cocktail reception with access via the venue's new VIP red carpet pass holder's entrance. With 'Red Carpet' treatment all the way at selected events, premium ticket holders can now look forward to enjoying shows in five-star luxury at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. All these can be yours at the very special price of $70 onwards! Not inclusive of the ticketing charge and of course the tip for the valet. Don't miss Grease, in Singapore only from 26 - 30 May 2006! |
