S uperman, aside from being Jewish, was famous for his legendary great sight. But in his day job, you always saw him sporting geek glasses without any sense of shame. That was because Superman didn't know about the Specialist Eyecare Centre at Great World City. With its own ophthalmology medical clinic next door, two dedicated retail sensory areas and a range of specialised eye health services, consumer eyecare has now become something Clark Kent could only dream of. This 3,000 square foot store houses over 100 fashion brands and around 3,000 styles of eyewear, displayed according to brands as well as lifestyle categories such as In Style, Classic and Contemporary, they even carry geeky glasses! Customers are encourage to touch, feel and try the products before visiting one of the three fully equipped consultation rooms which offers an extensive range of specialised eye health checks includes slit lamp biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, tonometry and perimetry (which can detect cataracts), glaucoma, diabetic eye diseases, retinal disorders, macular degeneration, eye infections and contact lens-related complications. Take that Superman! They also has their own in-house laboratory where most spectacles can be processed within an hour.
- Specialist Eyecare Centre is located at #02-20, Great World City, 1 Kim Seng Promenade and is open daily from 11.00 am to 9.30 pm. Specialist Eye Clinic at #02-19A operates on weekdays at 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 5.00pm, and on Saturday mornings. |
