Morton's Oriental Hotel, Fourth Storey, 5 Raffles Avenue, Marina Square, Tel: (65) 6339 3740, Fax: (65) 6337 3763 Why They Won: There really is no question about it at all. It has to be Mortons. It can only be Mortons. Why? Because once you've tried Morton's steaks, you'll never want to eat steak anywhere else. I really wonder exactly what they put in their meat somedays to make it so succulent and perfectly done. But steak is not what Mortons is only famous for. Between the hours of 6 and 7 pm, people are throwing their jackets aside, and happily ingesting martinis, during their happy hour. It may not be the Mezza9, but they make a good martini. Plus, it comes with free beef sandwiches. Magnifique! House Specialty: Try the Mortini! Acceptance Speech: "We're so happy to have won this! We're honoured, and happy that you like the meat we make, and we'll keep making it because you're loving it!" - Teenage-sounding girl who answered the phone, but wouldn't give her name. Bet You Didn't Know: Mortons is everywhere is the U.S. Practically every state has at least one restaurant, and it's also present in Hong Kong and Singapore.
