![]() There's more to school than learning! Do you have a sweet tooth that's so insatiable that you are always hunting for a sugar fix? Fret not because now, there's another place you can go to for your regular glucose dosage. Edmund's@SMU is the latest dessert place you can go to. Located at the basement of the new Singapore Management University (SMU)'s premises at Stamford road, this little shop stands out from the other food stalls at the Kopitiam food court. Owner Edmund Ng, 25, bakes all the sweet treats himself. Here's the amazing part; he didn't go to culinary school - everything is self-taught. Edmund holds a degree in business and marketing from SMU and he started experimenting with cakes and pastries about two years ago. Brownies are his specialty it seems - he has a variety of them, ranging from the fudgy ($2.40), to chewy ($2.40), and even those with rum & raisin, banana walnut and sunflower seeds ($3.50 for 2 pieces of each flavoured brownie). Call him creative or innovative if you wish, but one thing's for sure - this guy has got the passion. You can taste it in his cakes and what not. Try out his blueberry cheesecake ($3.90) or his carrot cake ($3.50), either way, you'll agree that his cakes taste good. Another bestseller is his apple crumble pie ($2) and tiramisu ($3.90). There are plenty of cakes you can choose from, so drop by the next time you feel like having some pure indulgence at reasonable prices. Li Ka Shing Library Block 70 Stamford Road, SMU, Basement 1. Opening hours: 8:30am - 8:30pm |
