La baroque Chijmes Singapore

As you step into finely furnished Le Baroque, you can't help but think to yourself, "Wow!" Melissa Cheng takes you inside...

D
esigned with 17th century French theme in mind, the surroundings invite you to sit down and relax as you allow the bar to envelope you in its intimacy. Warm red inviting sofas, dreamy atmosphere, and comfortable high stools provide you with a guaranteed comfortable night; be it savouring the scrumptious European cuisine prepared by their award-winner Desmond Png, or enjoying a chill-out evening with friends.

Choose to relax at the alfresco dining area, with the outdoor bar satisfying your every request. I let my gaze wonder around Le Baroque, bobbing my head to the contemporary disco rock music. The VIP area is perfect for private parties or receptions, as you have a bird's eye view of the dance floor and stage.

The bar is an eye-catcher, framed by strategically placed lighting and fully stocked with liquor of all kinds. Try the Le Baroque [$22]; a champagne cocktail containing crème de framboise & fraise topped with Moet & Chandon. Simply delicious.

Part of the Maracana Group, Le Baroque shares the Chijmes Fountain Court with their affiliates, Table108 and La Cave. The former serves authentic Thai fusion cuisine, with a modern Asian themed decor. The interior offers a serious place to relax and watch sports as you chose from a wide selection of drinks from their martini bar.

As I sat there sipping a non-alcoholic concoction of lime juice and soda water rumoured to have slimming properties (take note ladies), I waited in anticipation as their proudest feature, house performer Douglas O and the house band Satellite, to come out and entertain the crowd.

Rocking the house every Monday to Saturday from 10.30pm onwards, Douglas O brings contemporary rock with a twist. Fondly known as "Daddy Rocker", Douglas O has the uncanny talent to put his own unique touch to his music, transporting the listener to nostalgia, making people reminiscent. His husky voice filled with feeling, as he conquered each familiar song, making it his own.

His friendly disposition allows the crowd to relate to him, as he expertly works the floor with his cool, laid-back attitude, making you feel like you belong. The experience at Le Baroque will leave you utterly satisfied. The classy crowd consists of celebrities, attracting lookers, the gluttoners and the gushers.

The sit-back-and-relax ambiance ensures a comfy hangout far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Why not dress up for this wonderful place, would you seriously feel comfortable in anything but your best?

It's rare when a club's membership card brings the live eleIt's rare when a club's membership card looks as good as the value it gets you, much less vice versa, but Maracana Group's launch of the Baroque Cards has done both spectacularly.

You'll find yourself heading to the fountain court at Chijmes regularly just to flip these cool cards out in front of your friends. For ladies, the 3-year Duchess card is free, and worth $16,425 at least, that's assuming you enjoy your one $15 free drink every day! You also get a 15% discount at all three outlets plus participating partners.

The men's Prestige card costs $188, but that gets you a premium bottle worth over $200, 20% discount off your order and invitations to exclusive events. Just ask or contact the Marketing Manager at +65 9635 9186 or email him at ken.k@lebaroque.com.sg.
