Why They Won: It’s got everything! From a library to the biggest Kinokuniya in SEA, to almost all of the big brands all over the world, including Singapore’s first Bottega Venetta boutique. It may not have as cool-looking a food court as Wisma (no dim sum trolley), but it’s got plenty of good food and dining to choose from.
WE LOVE: funky festivals going on in its courtyard, excellent choice of shops, neatly arranged to level, so you don’t have to trawl from level 5 to basement 2 for shopping.
Bet You Didn’t Know: Takashimaya began as a kimono shop in Kyoto in 1831. It opened its first department store in Japan in 1922, and is Japan’s oldest department chain!
